Mindfully built, she says that she works with prayerful intention and believes that each altar of milagro will find its way to its purposed owner.  A milagro ("miracle" in Spanish) may be representative of the personal life lessons one hopes to work on, symbolic of intention, a petition for a miracle or an act of thanks for blessings already received.

Intermezzo holds hand hammered sterling silver coptic crosses from Ethiopia in various styles and sizes.  The Ethiopian Coptic Church has many beautiful and intricate designs filled with symbolic meaning and prayers.  The crosses are thoughtfully selected in Ethiopia and the jewelers have already been honored by our purchase of their work. 

Our handmade paper beads from Ethiopia are made by the patients of Hospice Ethiopia, one of the only two hospice care organizations in a country of 84 million people.  Working closely with the founder of Hospice Ethiopia, we are able to deliver 75% of the proceeds of the sale of the necklaces to her in support of the  development of her work in the field of pain management and training in the medical colleges.
